From the winter of 1906 at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, the Seven Jewels established Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. on a foundation of scholarship, fellowship, and service that endures across generations of Brothers. The Alpha Phi Alpha Sphinx Stainless Steel Tumbler translates that Black and Old Gold legacy into a heavy-duty daily hydration vessel. Framed by burnished gold-tone stainless steel bands at the upper collar and lower base, the brushed silver barrel showcases an ornate gold-and-black recumbent Great Sphinx of Giza resting across stacked black ALPHA PHI ALPHA block lettering.
Symbols of the Seven Jewels and 1906 Fraternal Regalia
Every inscription on the barrel carries weight for an Alpha man. Centered directly beneath the Pharaoh-crowned Sphinx is the fraternity’s guiding motto: FIRST OF ALL, SERVANTS OF ALL, WE SHALL TRANSCEND ALL. Along the stepped-down lower section, the heraldic Alpha Phi Alpha coat-of-arms shield—complete with its ribbon scroll reading ΑΛΦΑ ΦΙ ΑΛΦΑ—sits above a beveled metallic-look plaque stamped ΑΦΑ EST. 1906.

Flanking the lower heraldic crest are three recessed matte-black oval bumper pads on each side, each embossed with the Greek letters ΑΦΑ to provide tactile finger traction when lifting the cup from a vehicle console. Beside the upper handle bracket, subtle vertical hash marks labeled DONE, NICE!, and GOOD KEEP! add a playful nod to daily hydration goals.
Vacuum-Insulated 18/8 Steel and Contoured Handle Balance
Engineered from rust-resistant, BPA-free 18/8 stainless steel, the double-wall vacuum chamber keeps ice intact for up to 48 hours, chilled water cold for 24 hours, and coffee or tea piping hot for up to 8 hours during long chapter planning sessions or road trips to district conventions. Because the vacuum seal prevents condensation from forming on the brushed exterior, the tumbler rests cleanly on executive office desks and conference tables without leaving water rings.

A contoured matte-black side handle with a textured outer grip spine attaches to the barrel via polished gold-tone top and bottom brackets, balancing the weight of a full 30oz or 40oz pour while the narrow base fits standard car cup holders. Topping the vessel is a clear press-in lid equipped with an angled black flip-up drinking spout and reusable straw. Hand washing the brushed stainless steel body preserves the metallic Old Gold trim and Sphinx artwork, while the lid and straw can be cleaned in the dishwasher.
