Few scouting stories in pro football history match Gil Brandt’s 1962 signing of Cornell Green (1940–2026). A two-time All-American basketball forward who set rebounding records at Utah State without playing a single down of college football, Green arrived in Dallas under head coach Tom Landry and spent 13 consecutive NFL seasons (1962–1974) anchoring the Dallas Cowboys secondary in jersey #34. Never missing a game across 168 regular-season appearances, he earned five Pro Bowl selections across cornerback and strong safety, recorded 34 career interceptions, and helped the Doomsday Defense hold Miami to three points in Super Bowl VI. The Dallas Cowboys Cornell Green Legendary Defensive Back Vinyl Figure honors that 1940–2026 legacy in a three-dimensional sculpted collector format built for desks, bookshelves, and Cowboys memorabilia cases.
Authentic 1960s and 1970s Doomsday Defense Detailing: Rather than a flat plaque, this collectible is a three-dimensional molded vinyl figure finished with multi-color painted uniform details and crisp pad-printed numbering. Green is sculpted in an athletic defensive back crouch with his right hand extended forward in a press-coverage read and white wrist tape wrapped around both forearms. His oversized metallic silver helmet carries the classic navy-white-navy center stripe, side Dallas Lone Star decals, and a raised three-dimensional gray two-bar facemask iconic to his Cotton Bowl era. Beneath the facemask, he wears the royal navy #34 Dallas home jersey with white sleeve striping, metallic silver football pants, striped navy-and-white socks, and black cleats with white laces.
Dual In-Box and Out-of-Box Collector Presentation: For freestanding stability out of the box, Green’s cleats are permanently mounted to a circular navy-blue pedestal base accented by a raised bevel-edged Dallas Lone Star emblem at the front edge and a brushed silver-toned memorial plate reading CORNELL GREEN / 1940 – 2026 / FOREVER A COWBOY. Collectors who prefer sealed or side-by-side shelf presentation also receive the custom white-and-navy clear-window display box, stamped with the #34 jersey badge, a silver Vince Lombardi Trophy above SUPER BOWL VI CHAMPION, historical black-and-white action photography on the side panel, and the tribute banner LEGENDARY DEFENSIVE BACK • IN LOVING MEMORY • 1940 – 2026.
