Ever since Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson published the original edition of Dungeons & Dragons through Tactical Studies Rules (TSR) in January 1974—fusing Arneson’s Blackmoor dungeon crawls with Gygax’s Chainmail rules—few creatures have embodied tabletop peril like the Beholder. Conceived by Terry Kuntz and introduced by Gygax on the cover of Supplement I: Greyhawk (1975) as the “Sphere of Many Eyes” or “Eye Tyrant,” the floating aberration remains a signature creation of the role-playing hobby.
This Dungeons and Dragons 52nd Anniversary 1974-2026 collector statue brings that subterranean guardian to the gaming table as a freestanding 3D sculpted resin/PVC figure, complete with an overflowing cavern treasure base and a flame-bordered anniversary window box.
Ten Writhing Eyestalks and Active Spell-Ray Sculpting
Suspended above its rocky lair, the spherical body is textured in deep magenta, crimson, and rose-pink leathery folds crowned by horned brow ridges and a staring violet-purple central eye. Below that unblinking iris, a wide cavern maw bares rows of pointed teeth around a long curling red tongue. Ten independent eyestalks twist upward and outward from the dome, with two side stalks captured mid-combat—an upper-left stalk erupting with a translucent lime-green magical ray and a lower-right stalk firing a sharp cyan-blue spell starburst.

Multi-tone dimensional paint shading accentuates every recessed wrinkle, brow horn, and glossy eyeball across the sculpt, giving the creature strong visual depth under warm game-room lighting without flat printed surfaces.
Subterranean Treasure-Hoard Base and 1974–2026 Collector Box
Instead of resting on a plain stand, the figure is anchored to a weighted cavern rock pedestal sculpted like a boss-encounter chamber:
- Overflowing Dungeon Loot: A wooden chest spills metallic gold coins, red rubies, and green emeralds across jagged slate-gray stalagmites.
- Adventurer Relics: A silver broadsword, a weathered skull, a blue-and-white quartered heater shield, a round bronze shield, and a golden chalice sit half-buried in the hoard.
- Anniversary Window Packaging: The companion black collector box features fiery lava borders, metallic gold Beholder lettering, and DUNGEONS & DRAGONS • 52ND ANNIVERSARY 1974-2026 badging with a front-and-side viewing window.
Dungeon Masters and tabletop collectors can set the freestanding statue right beside polyhedral dice trays, campaign notebooks, and fantasy rulebooks during boss encounters, or keep the piece housed inside its clear-window box on a bookshelf.
