Originating in Palo Alto, California, in 1965 when Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann, and Ron “Pigpen” McKernan first plugged in together, the Grateful Dead turned the painted highway bus into an enduring emblem of American counterculture. The Grateful Dead 61st Anniversary Psychedelic Tour Bus Brick Set honors that 1965–2026 touring legacy in a 2,846-piece collector build, combining a vintage split-windshield bus exterior with a recessed side-panel concert stage built for vinyl listening rooms, guitar studios, and display shelves.
Open-Side Concert Stage & Four Band Minifigures
Rather than hiding its interior behind solid bodywork, the port side of the bus opens directly into an illuminated-look concert stage framed by vertical silver-truss columns, stacked black speaker cabinets, and a row of colorful overhead stage lights. Inside the recessed stage alcove—backed by crimson American Beauty roses and a central red, white, and blue Steal Your Face lightning-skull medallion—four articulated band member minifigures take their positions on the floorboards:
- Lead & Rhythm Guitarists Front Left: A white-haired, bearded guitarist in a black vest fretting a red electric guitar alongside a long-haired guitarist in a green vest playing a yellow six-string in front of a floor monitor stack.
- Center Drum Kit & Right-Side Bassist: A long-haired drummer seated behind a dual-tom kit with gold cymbals and a Steal Your Face bass drum head, flanked on the right by a bearded bassist in a wide-brimmed brown hat and blue vest holding a four-string bass.

Steal Your Face Medallions, Dancing Bears & Rooftop Gear Rack
Every angle of the sunburst-yellow and rainbow-striped coach incorporates classic Deadhead artwork first introduced by Owsley “Bear” Stanley and graphic artist Bob Thomas. Above the split front windshield, an arched destination marquee reads GRATEFUL DEAD between red rose clusters, while a second Steal Your Face skull badge anchors the radiator grille above a chrome-gray bumper and yellow peace emblem. Even the rolling tires carry rainbow-spoked peace-sign hubcaps.
Running along the upper roofline directly above the stage opening, six high-stepping Dancing Bears in blue, green, yellow, orange, pink, and purple march between rainbow arches and peace medallions. Up top, a gray safety-railed rooftop cargo rack carries the band’s touring backline: two miniature electric guitars (one red, one red-and-white) mounted on vertical stands, black amplifier cabinets stamped with peace symbols, brown road trunks, and a third Steal Your Face shield.

2,846-Piece ABS Build & Standard Stud Compatibility
Molded from lead-free, BPA-free ABS plastic with smooth clutch tension, all 2,846 pieces lock together into a rigid chassis that holds its shape when moved from workbench to turntable console. Because the bricks and minifigure footplates follow LEGO-standard stud dimensions, builders can also integrate additional custom instruments, stage lighting, or road crew figures from their existing brick collection. Each set includes a bound, illustrated step-by-step instruction book and a full-color 61 Years (1965–2026) collector box. Classic rock collectors curating a multi-band music shelf can also pair this tour bus build with The Beatles advent calendar box for a cross-era 1960s display.
