Sixty Years of Paper Bags, Ghost Sheets, and the 1966 Television Classic
When Charles M. Schulz, director Bill Melendez, and jazz pianist Vince Guaraldi brought It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown to CBS on the night of October 27, 1966, they turned a neighborhood trick-or-treating walk into one of American television’s most quoted holiday sequences. Even after struggling with the scissors and cutting far too many eye holes into his white bedsheet, Charlie Brown tagged along from porch to porch—only to peer into his brown paper grocery bag at every stop and deliver his deadpan refrain: “I got a rock.” Marking the sixty-year span from 1966 to 2026, the Charlie Brown 60th Anniversary 1966-2026 Christmas Ornament captures that moment in a three-dimensional sculpted cast resin and polymer diorama built to bridge autumn harvest displays and December evergreen trees.
Comparing the Two Sculpted 1966–2026 Diorama Styles
Rather than printing a flat cartoon frame onto ceramic or acrylic, both editions of this keepsake are fully molded in three-dimensional resin with matte and satin hand-painted finishes across the ghost sheets, folded kraft-style paper bags, and leaf-strewn bases.
Style 1: The Overhead Speech-Bubble & Witch-Mask Vignette
Built atop a rounded harvest-orange pedestal rimmed with mossy turf and fallen autumn leaves, Style 1 gathers four trick-or-treaters around Charlie Brown’s inspection of his haul. On the left, Lucy van Pelt beams beneath a pointed red witch hat while holding her green witch mask at her side next to a white-sheeted ghost gripping a tied treat sack. At center stage, Charlie Brown stands with his polka-dot eye-hole sheet pulled down around his shoulders, holding up a dark gray rock in his right hand above an open square-bottom paper bag. To his right stands a scowling green-masked trick-or-treater in a purple-banded hat. Arching above Charlie Brown’s head is a gold-rimmed white speech bubble reading I got a rock., while the front cream plaque is flanked by twin jack-o’-lantern icons and inscribed Charlie Brown "I Got a Rock!" / 1966–2026 / 60TH ANNIVERSARY.

Style 2: The Ghost Snoopy Lineup & Suspended Lower Quote Plaque
Arranged along a wider woodland ledge bordered by sculpted orange pumpkins and miniature wooden fence posts, Style 2 expands the lineup to five sheeted figures. On the far left, Snoopy peers out from a white ghost sheet with his long black ears draped down the sides while holding a brown paper bag. Beside him, Charlie Brown smiles through a hooded ghost sheet with a gray rock resting atop his bag, joined on the right by three fully covered ghost trick-or-treaters—one with stray hair lines around the eye holes, one riddled with extra cutouts, and one crowned with a red witch hat. Below the main 1966–2026 / 60TH ANNIVERSARY fence-post plaque, a secondary rectangular sign hangs freely from two metallic-gold jump rings, displaying "I got a rock." above a painted gray stone and tufts of grass.

Measured to the standard 3-to-4-inch ornament scale, each piece includes a top gold-toned metal eyelet ring and a pre-attached braided metallic-gold cord. Families who enjoy decorating from October spooky season right through Christmas Eve can also pair the Peanuts gang with the Addams Family Anniversary Advent Calendar.
