Every December 5 across Austria, Bavaria, and the Central European Alps, Krampusnacht precedes the Feast of Saint Nicholas with the clatter of iron chains, brass cowbells, and bundles of birch twigs known as Ruten. The Krampus Advent Calendar 2026 brings that centuries-old winter folklore into a 24-day December countdown housed inside a rigid vertical collector box. Framed by ornate gold filigree, holly leaves, horned goat-skull corner emblems, and a crimson "24 COLLECTIBLES" badge, the cover illustration depicts the long-tongued horned beast carrying a gift sack and birch bundle through a moonlit Alpine village.
Ten Horned Krampus Poses and Saint Nicholas Counterpart
Opening the twenty-four numbered doors reveals a full roster of freestanding sculpted miniatures permanently mounted on circular, snow-dusted gray cobblestone bases. Ten of the compartments trace Krampus himself across distinct folklore poses: brandishing clanking chains and brass bells, gripping birch rods, hauling a heavy sack, holding an iron lantern, checking a "NAUGHTY" scroll, wearing a pale goat-skull mask, climbing from a brick chimney, springing out of a jack-in-the-box, framed inside a skull wreath, and driving a dark holiday sleigh. Balancing the beast is his traditional December 6 counterpart, Saint Nicholas, sculpted in red-and-white bishop vestments and mitre with a golden crosier and book.
Gothic Winter Companions and Alpine Village Props
Around the two central folklore figures, the remaining compartments build out an entire dark-Yule tabletop scene. Twisted holiday counterparts include a skeletal soldier Nutcracker with a drawn sword, a fanged Gingerbread Man, a horned dark Reindeer, a fanged Snowman in a top hat holding a birch broom, a red imp with a toy sack, a hooded reaper carrying a scythe, and a chained dark wolf. Architectural and village accents-a snow-covered Alpine cottage, a "NORTH POLE" signpost perched with a black raven, a skull-studded Christmas tree, a skull-topped fence, a pentagram toy sack with a teddy bear, and skull-flanked gift boxes-let collectors arrange a cohesive Krampusnacht village across mantels or bookshelves.

Why is Saint Nicholas included alongside Krampus in this 2026 advent calendar?
In Central European Alpine folklore, Krampus appears on Krampusnacht (December 5) as the horned counterpart to Saint Nicholas (December 6), warning the unruly with birch rods and chains while Saint Nicholas rewards the well-behaved.
Do the 24 Krampus miniatures stand on their own without hooks?
Yes. Every miniature figurine in the 24-piece set is mounted on a circular, snow-dusted gray cobblestone pedestal base designed for freestanding tabletop, mantel, or shelf display.
What specific characters and village props are included besides the ten Krampus poses?
Alongside ten distinct Krampus variants and Saint Nicholas in bishop robes, the calendar includes a skeletal Nutcracker, fanged Gingerbread Man, fanged Snowman, horned Reindeer, red imp, reaper with scythe, chained wolf, Alpine cottage, NORTH POLE raven sign, skull Christmas tree, fence, pentagram sack, and skull gift boxes.
